Welcome back to school and to the Oak Creek Intermediate 7th grade team. Summer flew by, and here we are ready for another spectacular year
In history students will be working out of the Medieval and Early Modern Times textbook, completing projects and reading excerpts in The World in Transition reading book. There is a link available for the text book on my home page. Students are given ample time to complete their assignments in class.
In math students will be completing a "My Life Project." We will have spent two class periods going over instructions and details. The project focuses on converting numbers from fractions to percents to decimals. Students will also learn how to utilize protractors in order to create a pie graph utilizing their "My Life Project" information. The project will be due on Friday , August 22th. Students will have plenty of time to complete the majority, if not all, of their projects during class.
Our math program will be on line utilizing CPM E-books. Students may also check out a book from the library if they do not have internet available at home.
Calculators are available for check out from the library, but it is preferred that you purchase your own.
History Project due Tuesday, November 12th-students have a detailed hand out.
Good examples:
Make a toothbrush like the ancient toothbrushes using natural bristles from animal hair, plant fibers, etc. Use wood for a handle.
Bad example: Buy a toothbrush and bring it in as your project.
Good example: Make a kite using the practices that were utilized during Midieval China.
Bad example: Buy a plastic kite.
